The Great Escape is Cystic Fibrosis Australia’s premier motoring event.  The rally travels through unique and iconic locations within Australia raising awareness and much needed funds to support Australians with cystic fibrosis.

In 2016 The Great Escape will commence in Dubbo, a regional town located in the central west of NSW.  The cars will tour to the cosmopolitan town of Noosa on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast via the iconic Birdsville Races.

This year, Cystic Fibrosis Australia is proud to announce the introduction of Rally Light.  Rally Light is a shorter track that will commence with all the teams in Dubbo and complete their track at the Birdsville Races.  Participants can still register for the Rally Regular, which will guide the remaining participants to the gorgeous Sunshine Coast.

Over the past 15 years The Great Escape has visited some quintessential “aussie” locations such as the magnificent Great Ocean Road, world heritage listed Fraser Island, the convict colony of Port Arthur and the awe-inspiring landscapes of Uluru and the Red Centre.

Historically the rally attracts around 40 cars with over 150 participants.  Each year these “rallytives” work solidly to raise funds for the Australian Cystic Fibrosis Data Registry (ACFDR).  The Data Registry is the cornerstone for cystic fibrosis research and clinical outcomes in Australia.  It monitors the progression of the disease and aids researchers by providing statistical data from CF centres in Australia.

Registration for Rally Light, commencing on 29th August and concluding on the 4th September is available here.

Registration for Rally Regular, commencing on 29th August and concluding on the 8th September is available here.
